Trust Fall by Lynn Painter is a contemporary, rags-to-riches Young Adult (YA) romantic comedy, about a small-town girl and a big-city boy who is hiding an explosive secret. The novel utilizes a fun “enemies-to-lovers” and “grumpy-sunshine” dynamic set against the backdrop of elite Manhattan society.

Julia is a small-town girl who loves her peaceful life. But when her family inherit a not-so-small fortune from her secret multi-millionaire neighbour, she is swept away to live in New York City and attend an elite private school for the super-rich.

It should be a dream come true, but Julia is struggling to fit in at her new school, and even worse, she’s failing. Enter Damion, the mysterious and handsome tutor who is hired to get Julia back on track. Except Damion has a secret: he is a relative of the man who left everything to Julia’s family, and he doesn’t buy for a second that his Great-uncle would leave his fortune to strangers instead of family.

Damion schemes to earn Julia’s trust, so he can uncover what really happened. But the more time Damion spends with Julia, the more his plan begins to backfire, as he soon starts falling for her.

As Damion and Julia work to figure out where they belong, will they be able to see past their differences and lean into their feelings, or will the trust Damion has worked so hard to gain lead everything to fall apart?
